Server move = Error on rebuild all posts

I'm in the process of moving servers. Everything went just dandy (did this once before) until I tried to rebuild all the images (made a tweak the default post content). I can rebuild any post individually, however if I try to batch rebuild images, content, or all, I get the following error:

* Updating following image sizes: thumbnail, main
* Updating following views: content, excerpt
* Updating all published Photos...

Aborting batch processing due to following error:
{ "percentage": "0.68027210884354", "message": "", "errorMessage": "" }

When rebuilding content it seems to be an instant error, and no changes are made. When rebuilding images it'll get about 3-4 done (after deleting _ALL_ the existing sizes) and then dies. Serve move isn't compete yet (domain still pointed to old server) but I'd like to get this sorted asap.

hmmm, from your post it dies despite the fact that there does not seem to be an error message.

would it be possible to get an account for me on the machine in question and to send me the credentials via email, such that i can once try this out for myself?

Ok I solved this problem. Looks like the WP Firewall was the cause of the problem. Disable that plugin and the rebuilds go fine (other than snagging 80% cpu time on my VPS for almost 3 min!!!)
Next minor annoyance, the thumbnails are not rebuilding. By that I mean the thumbs shown in the admin panel, next to posts or while setting up a batch upload.
No error that I can see, they just dont load. Any ideas where to start looking/debugging?

Aha, solved that. THe phpthumbs script isnt compatible with php 5.3, which is the default install on ubuntu 10.4 :(

Is there a fix, other than forcing a downgrade to php 5.2?

ok, thanks for reporting this incompatibility.

on the php 5.3 issue. yes, i know about this one. i have it already fixed in my current dev version. if you want, i can send you a trial version to test, i will anyway need beta testers soon :-)

actually not much, or a lot - depending on how you look at it :-)

there is not much that you will experience as a user. but there are a lot of changes under the hood. i am cleaning up and refactoring a lot of code and i am also shifting to php5 at the same time (php4 will no longer be supported starting with the next version). this will allow me to have a more flexible and robust code base for future releases. of course i also fixed some bugs like the one you mention above along the way.

version 1.9 of photoq should now work properly with php 5.3
