I can’t upload the photos with Chinese file name, it just give me an error and everything is not working when uploading those file, except i just change the English file name.

but first, I think you may setup your computer to display Chinese correctly.

there are two kind of Chinese characters in the world, that is Simplified Chinese characters, and Traditional Chinese characters. For HongKong, we use Traditional Chinese characters. You may wiki them if you are interested. Note that both of them use different encoding. For example, Traditional Chinese characters usually use BIG5 encoding. Although both of them can be displayed in UTF-8 encoding. I think it is not the case here as Windows file name is not using UTF-8 encoding.

I am a HongKong people and the all windows here use BIG5 encoding. if you can't display the Chinese file name I send to you correctly. You should let windows support display BIG5, therefore you can test them. I know most windows have support file installed, but in case you can't see them, that would be a problem of windows.

but remember that all i am typing here is using UTF-8, not BIG5.

I think you need to make some edit in photoq that let it read BIG5 file name, if it change them to UTF-8 and display them in WP, good. if it do not, please let us set WP to that special encoding and the whole process of photoq can be all using that special encoding.

no, it said "Error saving media attachment." English filename is okay.

I tried to change the encoding to UTF-8 and BIG5, all with no luck.

So does it mean that is WordPress 's problem ? So I am forcing to use English filename?

yes if it doesn't work with wp it will not work with photoq. photoq uses the upload functions of wordpress.

i would propose that you ask on the wordpress forums for help. probably you are not the only person with this issue and someone there knows what to do.

I had posted the tread on the wp forum and currently no body reply my question..

can you give me tips on why this is not work?

I may fix myself as i really want this to work.

no, i don't know. did you try any of the chinese wordpress forums http://codex.wordpress.org/Localization#Chinese_-_.E4.B8.AD.E6.96.87_.28zh_CN.29?

i guess these are the places where you are most likely to get a useful answer.
