Hi! I've spent a good amount of time adding metadata to my photos. When I uploaded in photoQ it appears as if the copyright information was read in Exif. BUT. to test when I drag one of the pics to my desktop the copyright and metadata information is missing. Is there a step I'm missing? I use Photoshop CS. Thank you.

hi,
i am not 100% sure i got your question. are you wondering why on the photo you upload you have exif info, photoq displays exif info but in the thumbnails generated by photoq it is not present?
if this is your question then the answer is simple: photoq reads exif data from the original photo you upload and stores this information in two metafields such that it can be displayed along with the photos. however, it doesn't write exif information to thumbnails it generates. on the other hand, in the original photo you uploaded the exif must still be present as photoq does not alter this file in any way.

The images I've uploaded are copyrighted and the information appears in the Exif area of photoQ. It's when I drag the image to the desktop the copyright information is stripped.

yes that's exactly because of what i wrote in my last post. the original images you upload have the exif information you added. you can check this for example for this original image on your server:
http://battle-studios.com/wp-content/original/2009_07/sidecar-6c-rail-rab.jpg
however, what you see on your blog and what you probably downloaded to your desktop is a smaller version (probably the main image size version) of the same photo:
http://battle-studios.com/wp-content/main/2009_07/sidecar-6c-rail-rab.jpg
these two are not the same file. the second one was generated from the first one automatically by photoq. however, the exif data is not written to the downsized images. the "main" version of your photo thus doesn't have an exif header. the exif data is only read from the original file and placed in the wordpress database (in a custom field) such that it can be displayed in the theme.
to protect your photos better against piracy you might want to have a look at the photoq watermarking options. also, you can hide the folder with original images such that it cannot be guessed from your main images (like i did in the example above). for both options please check the documentation to see how to achieve this.
