I updated my photoblog theme to Viewport and changed plugins from YAPB to PhotoQ. I have about 20 old posts already, and new posts with the new theme and PhotoQ works perfectly.

But how I go about "converting" old posts so they work with PhotoQ? This seems something obvious ans easy but I don't know what I'm missing.

I'm willing to modify/update the posts one by one if is necessary.

Thanks.

chaosratt,

it should be well possible to edit posts after they are created (and this w/o touching the db itself). true, the wysiwyg editor can be pain from time to time, but the idea of photoq is still that the user should be able to benefit from it. if this doesn't work, i would say it is a bug and i would be glad to have more details about it. thanks.

azie,

i can hardly imagine that this is caused by photoq. do you run any other plugins? can you try what happens if you turn them off? if it doesn't help, what theme are you using?

I don't have that specific issue, but I know from experience that it is not possible to edit posts after they are created without mangling them horribly. I either do direct DB edits for what I need to change, or just delete/re-post.

I think it's more to do with Wordpress's WYSIWYG editor and insisitng on certain formats than anything with PQ, but it would be nice if you could directly edit the PQ fields outside of the normal edit post area.

After I edit a post, paragraph codes (< p></ p>) are added to my posts with <!-- PHP 5.x --> at the end.

Does this happen to anyone else? The PHP code is added over and over when I save my updates.

Here's an example: http://aziedesigns.com/images/error.PNG

How do I prevent this?

Angel says:

HELP!!!
My PhotoQ stopped working!
I updated it, and now I use the latest version of WP and PhotoQ but no thumbnails appear!
I've checked the chmod, files and directories, I also resetted the database and reinstalled everything but nothing appened, I still have the same problem.

Lookind at the html code I see that the thumb's code is:

<img src="http://mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/lib/phpThumb_1.7.9/phpThumb.php?src=/web/htdocs/mysite.com/home/wp-content/imgdir/qdir/image.jpg&h=90&w=200" alt="image.jpg">

it looks too strange to me…

hi,

thanks a lot for sharing this.

yes, i also already noticed that disabling some resource hungry plugins speeds up updating a lot of photos considerably. so while rebuilding a site it might indeed by a good strategy to temporarily disable these.

Thought I would pass this on to anyone else who is having speed issues with updating a large number of images.

I was having some trouble with an fsock open error when updating all of my images. After several attempts it would finish updating.

Also, the update time would take an hour or longer for over 1800 images. So I just thought that was normal.

But I learned through some research that the fsock open error was attributed to the xml sitemap plugin.

So I disabled the xml sitemap plugin and and WOW! the speed was 20 times faster. Over 1800 images updated in 5 minutes!

I then just went back and re-enabled the xml sitemap plugin.

Hope this may help someone.

matt,

what exactly do you mean with "it flips out"? do you have a link to a sample post where that happened?

also, are you talking about newly posted images or old ones that did not get imported correctly into photoq 1.6?

Hey I used version 1.1 for the Longest time, just upgraded, and now whenever I try and post an image that’s in portrait instead of landscape it FLIPS out and refuses to make a thumbnail or actually process the image. Any advice?
