I concur. After a photo a day for almost a year, I can't switch themes without a rebuild and the rebuild never completes. If I could select posts from posts screen and batch rebuild the selected, it should would help.

I want that too... The second option would be perfect...

I have a photo site with over 9000 images currently. When I rebuild, I have no idea if it is working/hung/exceeded memory limts etc. Is there a piece of code that I can see what is being completed that I can add under the AJAX % Complete bar. It has been running for 24 hours so far and the percentage still says 0%

Hi,
I have the same problem, I only need 2 image sizes (thumb and main or thumb and original), and having the third one uses too much space in my server.

Did you find a way to do that?

Thanks

Hi Manu.

I noticed that the exif data is stripped from the images and leaves them orphaned. Since it's so easy to steal images on the web it would be nice if this data could return to the images.

I found this php script that might be usefull http://www.imagemetadata.com/ (download button) and hope this is something that could be put on the probably long todo list.

A feature could be the ability to select which imagesizes are to have this data

Regards, Miklas.

hmm, the problem is that since this is a commercial theme i can not just download it and have a look of how its featured image setting works. also i couldn't find a description on their page that explain how this is handled. it says "see documentation" on the second link that you sent but i cannot find the documentation anywhere either. if you could already point me to the documentation, that could already help.

Can PhotoQ achieve this when creating a photo posting? It is not something I have spotted amongst the other options - I guess you would also need a means to suppress the normal photoQ photo display - perhaps with a new setting of photoQDisplay set to 'none'

The reason for asking is the theme I am using has a means to build galleries from postings which have the featured image set - automatically and this is something that I would love to take advantage of

The theme in question is Studio 960 - http://themeforest.net/item/studio960-wordpress-by-cudazi/111595 - the galleries are like this one - http://curtziegler.com/sitedemo/studio960/wordpress/galleries/gallery-large/

So I have a lot of photos, and it would be great if there was an option in addition to "Rebuild All" that would let you rebuild some of the photos - for example, rebuild posts x through y, with user-entered variables (1 through 100 for example).

Another way to implement this would be in the "Post" page in the administration dashboard. If you could be able to check the boxes next to posts you wanted to rebuild, then under "bulk actions" there was a choice to "rebuild selected" or some such.

Thanks!

thanks for your answer, i will have a look at this plugin.

regarding the "derogatory comments" :-), i can understand them to some extent. that is also why i want to be a better citizen in this respect and have a tighter integration in the future. it is certainly photoq's philosophy to take advantage of the wordpress standard procedures whenever possible. in this case, however, there simply was no media library or a corresponding api around when photoq was designed. otherwise i would have taken advantage of it from start.

I contacted the author already, there is no API or corn system to manually notify it of updates (figured I could poke it via the cron that triggeres PhotoQ's scheduled posts). The author had several derogatory comments about photo/image plug-ins that don't use wordpress' media library.

i am currently working on improving integration of photoq and wordpress to get custom post types and taxonomies working. i will look at the same time into whether i can find a way to provide tighter integration with the media library.

do you happen to know how your plugin "watches these folders and the library"? or could you give me a link to the plugin, so i can try to see? thanks.

How difficult would it be to get PhotoQ to integrate fully into Wordpress's built-in media library, rather than storing its data/images in other (read:non-standard) locations?

The reason I ask, I'm having difficulty getting a CDN plug-in to integrate properly because PhotoQ stores all its images/data outside the main media folders, and the CDN plug-in watches these folders and the library itself for updates. The result of this is that new PhotoQ posts do not get uploaded to the CDN. The only way around this is for the CDN plug-in to regularly scan PhotoQ's folders (/main and /original) for any changes/updates. This is very intensive work and wastes a lot of bandwidth (which you pay for with a CDN) when each item has to be cross-checked.

Hey, fantastic plugin.

With the easy-to-create custom content types in wordpress 3, I was wondering if it was possible to make PhotoQ play nice with custom post types and taxonomies. I'm currently dumping all of my photo posts into a "Photo" category. But I would really like to wall them off from my blog by implementing a "Photo" post type. As part of this, I'd also like to create an "Album" taxonomy similar to categories, but exclusive to the "Photo" content type. This is easy to do in wordpress, but PhotoQ doesn't see it.

I know that I can create a similar result with categories and sub-categories within posts, but this would be very elegant and scalable. Let me know your thoughts, and I hope to see this feature soon.
