First, I love this plugin. It is top notch.

The only problem I have with it is that it modifies the porpotions of images by inserting HTML Hight and Width when standard wordpress functions are used by themes like: the_post_thumbnail()

My current example is: I want my thumbnails to be 150x150 cropped. If I set wordpress and photoq to those settings, it works ok within the post.

However the theme I am using has a recent post thumbnail list and uses:the_post_thumbnail() to get the thumbs. When they appear on the screen it takes the thumbs that are now cropped and displays them with the proportions of the original image.

I have fought this for a while and just realized it was photoQ because when I disable the plugin, everything works.

Any ideas on a fix?

I have tried numerous approaches with no success. I want to disable the image handling in PhotoQFeaturedImageProvider.php.

I am on Ver 3.2 of wordpress and it handles the images just fine so I think this code can be removed as it screws up how images are displayed by overriding the wordpress image handling.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I really like your plugin.

I have a website where I want to use this as a way to display the portfolio page.

(1) The "Portfolio" page will show the latest projects (how do I filter this using shortcodes?).

(2) Each of these latest projects is filed under 4 individual categories. I have these sub-pages like "Art", "illustration", etc. that will filter all projects. I can do this with shortcodes too, I believe? So that it only shows projects from a certain category?

(3) Each new project page contains an image in its full form. This is automatically done with your plugin. However, I want like 3 pictures for each project. For example:

Let's say there are 5 projects/thumbnails in the "Art" page. When the user clicks on the first thumbnail, they will be taken to a page with more images shown by lightbox or whatever. So how can I implement multiple images for each project page, but only have one main thumbnail image on the "Art" page?

Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

First off, we want to thank you for your amazing Photo Blog Plugin. It's something we'll definitely recommend to fellow photographers and something we're willing to donate to in the near future.

Anyhow, we just wanted to ask how you created this page (http://www.whoismanu.com/photos/) on your blog? More so, is it possible to create a page like this where photos are aggregated in categories/tags?

E.g. People (thumbnails of all images of people) Places (thumbnails of all images of places) all in one page or separate pages perhaps.

We're trying to incorporate PhotoQ plugin with the Atahualpa Theme by Bytes for All

Many thanks!

I'm loving PhotoQ.
I'm in the process of heavily altering the Viewport theme.

Because I want some posts to be text w/ a small photo & others to just be a photo, I need to independently style the images i upload through PhotoQ. So... How do I just request the "main" image in my php file?

Similar situation for the excerpt. How do I just get the thumbnail that PhotoQ created for the post?

Thanks,

I'm currently hosted at Dreamhost and for some reason they decided to change my account to a new server, which is fine except that PhotoQ uses the server name in it's links structure. From what I understand from DH it shouldn't, so I end up with 2 problems :

1- All the photos' thumbnails published pre server move now show the blue img with red words and link to this http://alexandregervais.com/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/lib/phpThumb_1.7.9/phpThumb.php?src=/home/.SERVERNAME/alexgerv/alexandregervais.com/wp-content/photoblog/original/2009_08/Yokohama-0137.jpg&h=75&w=75 which is now wrong, by simply removing the .SERVERNAME it works perfectly.

2- Similar problem by trying to rebuilt a photo which produce this message : Post "Three-Storied Pagoda of Old Tomyoji in Sankeien, Yokohama (Japan)": The photo "Yokohama-0137.jpg" could not be found at "/home/.SERVERNAME/alexgerv/alexandregervais.com/wp-content/photoblog/original/2009_08/Yokohama-0137.jpg". Again the .SERVERNAME shouldn't be used...

I tried some of the solution I found here like changing the value for $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['prefer_imagemagick'], $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['imagemagick_use_thumbnail'] and $CONFIG_ALLOW_SRC_ABOVE_DOCROOT. I also tried to change the DocumentRoot configuration to other options available in the code. All without any success

Hopefully somebody might have a clue because I ran out of ideas here...

I have a very new wordpress site that I'm working on. Wordpress version is 2.8.4 and PhotoQ version is 1.8.2. I have the following settings in PhotoQ

image sizes:
thumbnail
maximum dimensions 150x100

main
maximum dimensions 500x325

giant
maximm dimensions 800x600

views:
content
image link main linking to giant

excerpt
single photo thumbnail

However, for some reason, my thumbnails on the first page of my site are incredibly tiny. I've verified that changing the "main" image size definitely affects the size of the image on the post pages themselves, but nothing I do to the thumbnail image size seems to make any difference. I suppose it's possible that this my theme screwing it up somehow, but I thought I'd check here first.
Looking at the source of my front page, based on the name of the class in the img tag, it sort of seems like it's displaying my images using the content view, but that could just be confusion on my part. http://madeyourlunch.com/ is the site, if you wanna look at it yourself.

Thanks, in advance, for any clues.

I am using the latest version of the iQ2 theme with the latest version of PhotoQ. When I upload an image, the thumbnail of the image does not display on my home page, though the link to the "main" image works.

It seems that ImageMagick is installed on my host server properly, as I don't receive error messages from PhotoQ that ImageMagick is not installed.

I suspect there is a configuration setting I am not doing properly, though I have tested with the settings quite a bit. Could you assist me?

By the way, PhotoQ is the best photoblog theme for WordPress! I love its functionality. I'm just trying to get it to work properly. Thank you for developing such a great tool!

I have a sort of a strange problem. Maybe I can best describe the problem if you first take a look at my site. I have several regular photo-posts...and some 360 panorama shots (which are SWF files and I created manually and also created a custom thumbnail) When I click on the Archives link, they show up as thumbnails (if you look on my site, the last 2 thumbnails are the 360-panorama-shots) But if click at thumbnail nr 3 (the third-last), I don't see the thumbnail of the 360-posts, so users can only access my 360-shots by the Archives link? Anyway to solve this?
