you probably upgraded only photoq, but not iq2. if you are using iq2, please also upgrade iq2 to its newest version, this might already solve your problem.

in any case, i would advise you to backup everything first. there is always the possibility of something getting "messed up".

also make sure you have at least php 5.1.2 otherwise v1.9 will not run.

afterwards you should just be able to delete your old photoq-photoblog-plugin folder and then upload the new one. a good idea is also to clear your browser cache, because some .js and .css files from the old version might be cached there.

photoq doesn't work with safe-mode on. usually, this can only be turned off by your webhost. so you should ask them to turn it off.

how would i upgrade from 1.8 to 1.9 by not using the webinterface?
if i understand correctly my webhoster does not allow external ftp-use. so i would need to upload the files manually. i don't want to mess it up so i rather ask beforehand (-;

I get the error message about the "safe-mode" being on. And that it's best to switch that to 'off'. Is that something I can do, or is it a thing of the host?

I ask because I seem not even able to put something in a queue: I upload my pix, fill in all the details, and after having done everything, the queue is still empty...

Any advice welcome

I am having this trouble when attempting to use PhotoQ:

Warning: PHP GD library does not seem to be activated/installed on your server. GD is however required for this plugin to work properly.

What do I need to do to get this installed or activated? Is this something I can do myself or do I have to ask my hosting service to take care of it? They don't know what a GD Library is and are looking into it.

I have downloaded gd-2.0.35 but I don't know what if anything I can do with it.

Is the GD library used for generating thumbnails? If so, can I do this manually or is the GD library needed for other things too.

Thanks,

Joseph

if i were you i would re-upload wordpress manually. apparently something went wrong when you installed/upgraded. at least replace the whole wp-includes/js folder with a freshly downloaded one.

another thing i noticed and that looked strange to me on your site is the fact that wordpress says that you should upgrade to 2.8.2 but in the lower right corner it says that 2.8.2 is already installed.

I guess you have the latest version (v1.7) of photoq and wordpress 2.8.1 or 2.8.2?

this happens if you click on the button that says "Add Photos to Queue"?
so on the page with title "Manage PhotoQ - Upload" you only see a "Cancel" button and the "Select Photos..." button that should be there does not show up?

if yes to all questions you could try to clear the cache of your browser. because the select photos button is added via javascript and this sometimes gets cached and you end up with a stale version.

Thank you so much for the help. My hosting company's first line of support gave me the path that I referenced in the original post. Turns out they didn't exactly know what they were talking about. I opened a ticket yesterday, and this morning I got an email from a system admin telling me that the path is actually:

/usr/local/bin/php /home/timrybak/public_html/wimpq-cronpost.php

I updated the Cron job, and voila, it works like a charm!
