it doesn't look like the same problem described here to me. plus in the meanwhile you also posted here http://www.whoismanu.com/forum/topic/imagemagick-did-not-return-recognized-version-string, so let's therefore continue this discussion there.

I just installed the latest version of WP and The PhotoQ plugin and get the same problem.
I have no other plugins installed/active and am using the default template.
I'm not going the imageMagik route so I left that blank and the photoQCache directory was created so I assume the plugin has write permissions.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

i googled a bit and the 406 error we are getting now seems often to be caused by the mod_security apache module. maybe your host changed something there.

did you already ask them what could cause the problem? it might be that it somehow forbids urls with more than one "../".

however, in this case it should not work with wordpress 2.7 either. so what you could do is setup a fresh wordpress 2.7 install on the same server for testing and see whether you also have the problem there.

and yes on your server the main/2009_06/ folder does not exist. this i can explain. i guess in the last update of the photoq settings, photoq was just rebuilding this folder and the images therein (from the original images in the /original folder) but it failed due to the problem we are having with the relative urls. so the folder and the images in there got not recreated.

I've changed permalinks to default (?p=x) and I've removed the .htaccess file, but still no joy. It looks like the images are trying to be pulled from the wrong directory now. When I try and open just the image from the front page, the folder the image is supposed to be in (http://blog.lightfast.co.uk/wp-content/photoQimages/main/2009_06/) does not exist.

i still guess it might have something to do with rewrite rules. here is a similar link from my homepage

http://whoismanu.com/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/lib/phpThumb_1.7.8/phpThumb.php?src=../../../../../wp-content/original/2008_09/img_1838_web.jpg&h=90&w=200

change it to point to a non-existing file

http://whoismanu.com/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/lib/phpThumb_1.7.8/phpThumb.php?src=../../../../wp-content/original/2008_09/img_1838_web.jpg&h=90&w=200

and you get the blue error image from phpThumb

in your case this happens if you go up one directory

http://blog.lightfast.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/lib/phpThumb_1.7.8/phpThumb.php?src=../wp-content/photoQimages/qdir/crw_3586.jpg&h=90&w=200

but not if you go up more

http://blog.lightfast.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/lib/phpThumb_1.7.8/phpThumb.php?src=../../../../../wp-content/photoQimages/qdir/crw_3586.jpg&h=90&w=200

in which case you are redirected to a 404 page.

could you try to temporarily disable permalinks (and if this doesn't help maybe also remove any htaccess files) to see what the result is then?

I agree. The images are there and they load fine when pointed to directly, but the relative paths are screwing around with them. I haven't changed anything else as of late. No permalink changes, or anything else. Just the upgrade to WP2.8 and PhotoQ 1.6.6.

Thanks

P.S. The server is Linux and the Apache version is 2.2.11 (Unix)

hmmm, looks like your page no longer likes relative paths. weird, the following works

http://blog.lightfast.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/lib/phpThumb_1.7.8/phpThumb.php?src=/wp-content/photoQimages/qdir/crw_3586.jpg&h=90&w=200

but if you look closely, it points to the same image file as the one you posted above.
did you change something else? the permalink structure maybe?

is it a linux or windows server? apache or something else?

I just upgraded to WP2.8 and then PhotoQ 1.6.6. Ever since, the images in the PhotoQ don't display. The images that the placeholders link to work fine, but the thumbnails don't show. The image (thumbnail) URL is showing up as:

http://blog.lightfast.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/lib/phpThumb_1.7.8/phpThumb.php?src=../../../../../wp-content/photoQimages/qdir/crw_3586.jpg&h=90&w=200

Hi,

My situation:
1. empty default categories list : yes
2. array-map error message when saving a post in the queue w/o selecting categories : yes
3. 500 error on upload : yes, but I do not have the nightly builds installed

I'll wait for WP 2.8.1 and will let you know if that solves the problems.
Thnx for your reply!

1. does for once not seem to be photoq error but a wordpress error. the good news is that is has been fixed already. if you get the latest 2.8 build mentioned here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/280256#post-1104991 the problem goes away at least for me. if you don't want to install nightly builds you will have to wait until wp 2.8.1 for this to go away.

2. confirmed, actually i just found this one myself last week and i already fixed it in the release i am currently working on. however, i don't think it is critical (so you will get a fix once the next version comes out): apart from the error message nothing should happen and you can prevent it by always choosing at least one category.

3. i do not have this one on any of my installs. do both of you have this one? and do you also have this with the latest wordpress builds that fixes 1.?

Hi, I have a same problem.
I guess its because changes in WP 2.8 DB structure.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_2.8
"Drop post_category column from wp_posts table, and link_category column from wp_links schemas"

Its a great script and I hope it would be fixed soon.

Thanks!

Hi,

Hope you had a pleasant vacation :-)

In the posting of Kenneth Verburg (Wordpress 2.8), dizid mentions the following error: Warning: array_map() [function.array-map]: Argument #2 should be an array in [path]wordpress/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/classes/PhotoQHelpers.php on line 281

I have the exact same error when I try to edit and save an already uploaded photo, but only when there is no category checked. When uploading a photo, there is also a http error 500, although the photo is uploaded correctly. I think it has to do with the following:
in Settings / photoQ -> further options, the list that should be displaying the categories in WordPress, is completely empty (this is the dropdownlist PhotoQ Default Category). Thus, a default category can not be chosen, thus, the default category when saving a photo is giving an error. Of course I could be wrong, but I think this is the cause. I tried to fix it, but to no avail :-(

Some info:
Windows 2008 / IIS7
WordPress 2.8
PhotoQ 1.6.6

(The http 500 error also comes up in WordPress-mu when PhotoQ is installed, but I haven't investigated that further, so I've switched back no normal WordPress.)

Hope you have the time to come up with a solution :-)

Thanx in advance,
regards,

Tom

eh eh, thanks, I'm aware of this bug but I had other more urgent bugs to fix in the theme in the meantime :)
I think I need to look at the photoQ css to understand how it works first to adapt mine... but I've been lazy!

confirmed. thanks a lot for reporting. will try to fix it soon.

btw: followed the link to your page and also found a bug ;-)
the exif info that you overlay does not show properly under ff3 with mac os x. the exif info is shown above the exif tagnames. also the bullets from the html
<li>
show up and i guess they shouldn't.

Here's a problem I came across in version 1.6.5 of PhotoQ.
When a file name contains an apostrophe, it gets uploaded OK, but does not actually get added to the queue.

Steps:
1. Click Add photos to queue
2. Select and upload an image: it'goingtobreak.jpg
--> The page "Enter common info:" appears without an image at all.
You can click Next and Next again to save the queue (in case you uploaded other images at the same time), but the ones with apostrophes are definitely not part of what gets posted to the queue in the end.

having anonymous users submit photos was not yet on my to-do-list. thanks for the idea. i will put it to the things to be evaluated. guess if you want something right now, you can already achieve it to some extent by having users upload via anonymous ftp.

automatically resizing??? unless i get you wrong, this is one of the main things photoq does, no?
