First, I love this plugin. It is top notch.

The only problem I have with it is that it modifies the porpotions of images by inserting HTML Hight and Width when standard wordpress functions are used by themes like: the_post_thumbnail()

My current example is: I want my thumbnails to be 150x150 cropped. If I set wordpress and photoq to those settings, it works ok within the post.

However the theme I am using has a recent post thumbnail list and uses:the_post_thumbnail() to get the thumbs. When they appear on the screen it takes the thumbs that are now cropped and displays them with the proportions of the original image.

I have fought this for a while and just realized it was photoQ because when I disable the plugin, everything works.

Any ideas on a fix?

I'm trying to use this plugin. I had it working on a site was working on but I never really tried to make use of it. Then WordPress 3.x came and I started having problems with the plugin. I found the Beta version and it seems to be working pretty well.

But I'm running into a problem.

If I change the description of the photo (and I think other things cause this as well), it inserts some garbage into the post that breaks the HTML being output.

If my description is "This is my text", I get something like:

<img src="/url/to/image.jpg" title="
<p>This is my text</p>&8816; alt=&8817;my alt text&8816; /><img src="......

I'm using the freeform method since I'm filling a jQuery slider with the tags:

<img src="[imgUrl|thumbnail]" alt="[descr]" title="[title]" />

I'm not sure 8816/8817 is the right code, its whatever the UTF-8 code is for smart double quotes. This code is actually being inserted into the database field for the post content.

It works fine when I first upload a photo, it only blows apart if I change the text on the post form.

Any idea where I can look to see if I can fix this?

Thanks
Rob

PhotoQ writes absolute paths into posts using http:// links. When a page is viewed over SSL, this causes SSL errors since some content is pulled over nonsecure connections.

Example, the following freeform:

[caption width="510" align="aligncenter" caption="[descr]"]<a rel="lightbox" href="[imgUrl|original]" title="[title]"><img src="[imgUrl|main]" title="[title]" alt="[descr]" class="photoQcontent photoQLinkImg" width="[imgWidth|main]" height="[imgHeight|main]"></a>[/caption]

Will execute as such (pulled directly from the database):

I am using WP3.1, and PhotoQ as part of Grace Photoblog child theme (chelseadegreeshow.org/2011/).

I have been very successfully building the site and adding images as Administrator, and now want people to do it as 'authors'.

When I do this, there is no option to post the whole queue, just the top - is that intended? It seems a pain if I have just added 20 images as author to have to do this.

This looks like a PhotoQ 1.9 bug (on Wordpress 3.0.4). I had to replace an image on my blog for the first time this morning. The affected post is saved as a draft and I edited it using WPs "Edit Post" option and tried to replace the image via the file selection entry field in the "PhotoQ Photo" section of the edit page. After selecting the new file, I press "Save Draft" and see:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getYearMonthDirPath() on a non-object in /home/photos/public_html/wp-content/plugins/photoq-photoblog-plugin/classes/photo/PhotoQ_Photo_PublishedPhoto.php on line 207

I also tried "Preview" and "Schedule" rather than "Save Draft" but both yield the same error. It seems this post is now dead and I'll have to delete it and reenter it. Any suggestions?

New Beta's integration with the media library seems to be working fine, except when it comes to integration with the W3TC plugin.
With the CDN module enabled, W3TC is correctly notified of the Media Library update, however it is getting the wrong file url.

Example:
CDN Disabled URL:
http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/original/2010_10/image.jpg

When the CDN is enabled, the media library automagically updates all URLS to the CDN address. All normal Wordpress images work correctly. However the photoQ image links are correct (see url above, just stick the subdomain "cdn" on it, like it should), however they return a 404. If I force a manual Media Library CDN sync, the following happens:

wp-content/uploads/photoq-image.jpg Source file not found
wp-content/uploads/2010/09/wordpress-image-300x225.gif Object already exists
wp-content/uploads/2010/09/wordpress-image-150x150.gif Object already exists
wp-content/uploads/2010/09/wordpress-image.gif Object already exists

Seems to me like there is a mismatch on the URLs being reported, but I have no idea what to do from here.

epostma on "imgdir outside of web root"

Hi,

I had expected I would be able to select an imgdir that is outside of the web root (concretely, /home/epostma/photoq-photos/, where my web site lives under /home/epostma/example.com/ and the root for my wordpress installation is /home/epostma/example.com/erik/blog/). The reason is that I used menalto gallery before (gallery.sourceforge.net) and they recommend to set it up this way for security, which makes sense to me because I don't necessarily like having a mode 777 directory facing the public.

So I set the "image directory" setting to the absolute file path mentioned above, and uploading worked fine (I get images under /home/epostma/photoq-photos/qdir). However, photoq does not seem to want to serve these files; it assumes they are available as http://example.com/erik/blog/home/epostma/photoq-photos//qdir/P123456.JPG etc.

This post is twofold, I guess - first to seek confirmation that indeed this is not supported and to file a feature request, second to check that if I move the imgdir and change the corresponding setting, things should be fixed. Thanks for a reply.

(My actual domain name redacted in case there are security consequences.)

Hi!

First of all, the plugin and theme look great - can't wait to get started!

When I batch upload photos to my blog from my linux laptop, there's a bit of a nuisance in that the window that comes up needs the extension of the photo files to be .jpg, whereas they show up in my camera as ending in .JPG (file systems are case sensitive on linux, as they are (I think?) on OSX). I found that there's a line

file_types : "*.jpg;*.gif;*.png",

in js/swfu-uploader.js under the plugin directory; I've tried adding *.JPG to that list and will report later on whether that resolves matters (for now I bulk renamed my files to *.jpg before uploading).

It would be nice if this could be incorporated into the mainline, if it works, or maybe there's a better place to make the extensions actually case insensitive.

Description entries that contain "quotation marks" are not escaped before being entered in to the DB. This seems to cause the actual database entry for the description to become mangled. This could also be the opposite, the marks are being escaped before DB entry, but are not unescaped for posting.

I have looked at the code, and beleive the code behind $this->uploadPhoto() was depreciated in the last patch.

I am running wordpress 3.0.1 and PhotoQ 1.9 and ahve wp-cache and googleanalytics as active plugins. and i run a modified iQ2 theme.

I have moved the cron file into the root of the wordpress install that also has the wp-config.php file.

I have looked at the class and noticed the function is missing inside that PhotoQQueue.php class. and have tried to search all the classes local to that file and it appears to be missing, or possibly renamed.

I currently have
ftp upload enabled
when cronjob runs, auto add ftp uploads to queue.
and enable batch uploads enabled and delete image files from server when deleting posts.

I have tested the cron job with no files int he ftp folder and it works and makes the post when i transfer files from the ftp folder to the queue manually, but the automatic process is broken.

I can dig into the plugin deeper but figured that it would be best to get the bug report out, and see if you have a quicker response than me digging through the code that moves the ftp import code.

private function _addFTPUploadsIfCronOptionSet(){
if( $this->_oc->onCronImportFTPUploadsToQueue() ){
$ftpDir = $this->_oc->getFTPDir();
if (is_dir($ftpDir)) {
$ftpDirContent = PhotoQHelper::getMatchingDirContent($ftpDir,'#.*\.(jpg|jpeg|png|gif)$#i');
foreach ($ftpDirContent as $ftpFile)
$this->uploadPhoto(basename($ftpFile), '', $ftpFile);
//reload the queue to get newly uploaded photos
$this->load();
}
}
}

permissions are chmod 777 on my ftp folder so it has full control of the ftp folder's files.

http://www.mattbilodeau.com/wimpq-cronpost.php is in the same folder as wp-config.php

oh and you can remove the comment from the frontpage if you want, but having the link to my cron job won't hurt anything.

Ok this is on a default installation with all settings as default - I am seeing a nasty error when saving the PhotoQ settings and therefore updating the previously posted images - the error message is as per this screenshot - http://talk2david.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/photoq-error.png

The odd thing is that if I use the option under maintenance to rebuild all the posts then I get no errors

Another oddity is that my custom labels for EXIF fields don't appear to be getting used - the defaults are instead

Other than the above the plugin looks to be just what I need - I hope that the above are easy to sort out

Hello

I am using WP3.0.1 and the latest photoQ (v1.9) and iQ2 (v1.3). I am making a child theme for iq2 but have the same problem when the original iQ2 theme is activated.

In the EXIF photoQ settings I have been adding custom display names for the EXIF titles. However my custom names just get ignored and the original ones liek "TimeDateOriginal" always get shown.

Anyone else had this problem?
