hey there, i notice someone already posted this but reloading the theme isn't my first option here now that I've done all the work to tweak it. I'm wondering how to get rid of the line separating the page from the sidebar. I got rid of the rest of the sidebar and I don't need the sidebar real estate, but the line divider is throwing off my layout.

I'm using IQ2 on my photoblog and have made some CSS and template modifications successfully already but there are a few things I would like to do that I have not figured out yet. These may be WordPress rather than IQ2/PhotoQ questions (I'm new to WordPress) but any hints would be greatly appreciated.

1. I would love to include the next and previous thumbnails on the home page (i.e. the single photo you see initially. The thumbnails are visible when this is clicked but not before) or, at least, links to allow navigation without having to click the main image first.

2. I would like to be able to create a new page based on the template for the main (index) page, i.e. a page without the right sidebar, so that I can embed my existing flash galleries into pages on the IQ2 site. When I try to create a new page, however, I'm not given the choice of any template that excludes the sidebar.

3. The RSS feed for each entry includes only the image. I would like to be able to include the image and my description text in each RSS entry. How can this be done?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hey there, I finally decided it was time to stop hacking my old theme and create a clean theme based on IQ2. Since you update it quite regularly, I decided to go the clean route and create a child theme so I don't lose all my modifications at every upgrade.

I'm following the explanations from the codex here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

So far, everything works as expected with style.css or header.php, but I'm having issues adding a new colour theme and using it. I must be missing something...

Here is my folder structure:

|/wp-content/themes/iq2 (has the full iq2 theme)
|--colors
|/wp-content/themes/iq2-child
|---colors
|----iq2-color-new-set.css
|--header.php
|--style.css

When the new color set only exists in iq2/colors, it is detected as expected on the settings page.
When the new color set only exists in iq2-child/colors, it is not listed on the settings page.

As a workaround, I copied the css file in both locations, but this behaviour does not feel right. What is the file I need to override in the child theme so that I only have to place my css file in the child folder, not the parent one.

Hi All, I have installed Photoq 1.9 with IQ2 1.3 and have no other plugins installed yet. I'd like to install some widgets for the sidebar but the /wp-admin/widgets.php page gives me the message:

I was attempting to load up a new wordpress install combining iq2 and photoq, with my favorite antispam plugin: WP-reCAPTCHA. The comment forms however would not display the plugin, nor any other comment-modifying plugin. After some investigation, I discovered a very tiny error in iq2's comments.php:

do_action('commentForm', $post->ID);

As soon as that was changed to 'comment_form' the missing plugins appeared.

Just a heads-up, it's worth a try if you're having difficulties with commentbox plugins not appearing properly with this theme.

Great work on the theme and photoq! They make an excellent team.

Hi,

I used Iq2 and PhotoQ to manage this photo portfolio:

http://www.patrizioromanodellanna.it/fotografia/?page_id=126

If I choose a category, I get the related photo-posts, that's ok, but when I click on a thumbnail between those I see the main photo but, as next and previous thumbnails, I got the main photo-post sequence, not only the posts into that category.

I tried to find out something, I only got this ideas: to modify into the wp-includes/link-template.php the get_permalink function, no effect, and I look further around for any different function using the get_permalink.
Nothing

Hi, first of all thank you for the amazing IQ2 theme. I modified it a little bit, so it works more as a static website and portfolio page than a blog. The content won't change a lot, so there's no need for me to use the photoQ plugin. I have hardly to zero html or css skills, yet I managed to make things work pretty much the way I want them to. Except the display of the thumbnails. Let me explain:
I use the plugin 'cleaner gallery', which makes use of the [gallery] shortcode. If I want to have a gallery on a page, I create a post that has the set of images included and refer to the post with its specific id within the page (e. g. [gallery id="123" columns="5"]). So far so good, but how can I influence the distance between the thumbnails and to the thumbnails that appear in the next row? I would like to have the distance always constant. That means no distance, or a specific distance. I also would like to try to have a frame/border around the thumbnails, just to check for aesthetic reasons. Does the gallery shortcode overwrite or interfere with the style.css or where and how can I command the thumbnail's exact behaviour? The thumbnail placement looks also kind of different in Opera and Firefox. Please understand, I can't post the link to the site, yet, but I can send it to you via email. Thanks for your help!

I love this theme -- against other photo themes there isn't any comparison, however, I can't seem to make an archive page that works -- no thumbnails seem to be appearing. I've done everything in my power to create one and I'm not sure what else there is I can try. Even when I try to access each picture through it's category (all the photos uploaded are in one category so far) they don't even seem to be archiving there. I'm sure there's a step I'm missing somewhere, but I just have NO idea what it could be. Is there anything that I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated because I can't really continue on from here.

Hi! I just uploaded new version of iQ2 and PhotoQ. Before I upgraded however, I had my images arranged a certain way. Ten images per category so that the images were evenly displayed five on top, five on bottom.

But now the first slot is empty. Does not look uniform. I counted to make sure that there wasn't an image missing. All are accounted for.

I have a sort of a strange problem. Maybe I can best describe the problem if you first take a look at my site. I have several regular photo-posts...and some 360 panorama shots (which are SWF files and I created manually and also created a custom thumbnail) When I click on the Archives link, they show up as thumbnails (if you look on my site, the last 2 thumbnails are the 360-panorama-shots) But if click at thumbnail nr 3 (the third-last), I don't see the thumbnail of the 360-posts, so users can only access my 360-shots by the Archives link? Anyway to solve this?

I have 2 blogs using WordPress 2.8 and have been tearing my hair out trying to figure out why HTML in comments is rendered correctly in one (http://blog.webartz.net) but not the other (http://www.davewilsonphotography.com). I've finally delved into the PHP for the IQ2 theme and see the following which I suspect is the cause of my problem:

add_filter('pre_comment_content','wp_specialchars');

As far as I can tell, this escapes all the HTML in comments. I would love the comments to be parsed using the same process as is used by my other blog (i.e. allowing all HTML that I have explicitly allowed via the list in the wp-includes/kses.php file). My assumption is that removing the add_filter line will cause this to happen but, being a PHP and WordPress newbie, I'm worried that I will be doing some damage elsewhere by doing this.

Can anyone tell me why IQ2 adds this comment filtering and whether removing it is dangerous?

Thanks,

Dave Wilson
